Conservation Advisory Council
The mission of the Conservation Advisory Council of the Town of Knox is to provide information, expertise, advisement and guidance to the Town of Knox Board on matters pertaining to the protection, conservation, preservation, restoration and enhancement of natural and cultural resources within the town. The mission will be accomplished by: Developing and maintaining inventories and data bases on natural and cultural resources within the town. Participating in the development and implementation of natural and cultural resource management and conservation plans both for specific parcels and for the Town of Knox in general. Leading and participating in activities and work projects that protect and enhance the quality of the environment and the ability of town residents to benefit from it. Working with agencies, departments and boards within the Town of Knox and with neighboring communities, as well as with local, State and Federal governments and non-governmental organizations to protect, conserve, restore and enhance natural and cultural resources of interest to the residents of the Town of Knox. Meetings are held at 7:30 PM on the third Thursday of each month. Members of the public are encouraged to attend meetings and to participate in the CAC’s activities.
